Jerry J. Brennan
Managing Director

Jerry J. Brennan, Managing Director & Founder of Security Management Resources (SMR Group), the world’s leading executive search firm exclusively focused in corporate security.  Prior to founding SMR in 1997, Jerry enjoyed a twenty-five-year career in domestic and international security, loss prevention and emergency preparedness roles.  He has directed and managed programs for Panduit Corp., a private multi-national electronic component manufacturing firm; Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE); Mobil Oil Corporation; and served as a resident advisor to the Director General of the Royal Commission for Jubail, Saudi Arabia, the world's largest industrial city.   Jerry also spent several years in Europe working closely with various international authorities.   Previous to this, Brennan served in the US Marine Corp and as a police officer in Northern California. 

Jerry served in numerous leadership roles for a variety of professional organizations and is regularly quoted in industry trade publications and the general news media.  Currently, Jerry serves on the Board of Advisors for the Security Executive Council and most recently chaired the ASIS International committee that developed the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), Chief Security Officer Organizational Standard.  

Jay B. Crawford

Jay Crawford has over a 25-year successful track record within the security industry, providing management solutions, problem-solving expertise and recruiting services for small businesses as well as numerous Fortune 500 organizations. His experience includes information security, investigations, physical security, integrated electronic systems and crime prevention for corporate, U.S. Government and both contract and proprietary security organizations. In addition, Jay is a Vietnam Veteran having served with the U.S. Marine Corps.

Jay holds a Business & Industrial Management Degree, and is a human resource generalist.  He became Board Certified in Security Management in 1982, and was awarded the Certified Protection Professional lifetime designation in January 2002. Jay has published numerous articles on security related topics and has been active in many civic and professional organizations.

Chris Meager

Chris Meager, Managing Director, Europe Middle, East & Africa: Prior to joining SMR in 2007 to set up their European office, Chris has enjoyed over eight years of successful recruiting within the corporate security field, completing projects across five continents ranging from Country Security Managers in Africa to Chief Security Officer roles in Europe. Chris has a Postgraduate Diploma in Security Management from Leicester University and prior hands-on experience within the security industry.

Steve Ramsay is a career security professional with both demonstrated business acumen and a record of success in planning and implementing strategically integrated security programs.   Steve's unique combination of experience includes managing the Global Security function for a Fortune 500 company, developing ground floor security programs for two high-growth entrepreneurial firms and serving as a senior executive with the United States Secret Service.

During his distinguished career with the U.S. Secret Service, Steve planned and directed the security requirements for several U.S. presidents and candidates for the office and a vast number of visiting heads of state. He also managed the criminal investigations and protective activities of three major field offices including the Asia Pacific Division, San Francisco and Los Angeles, California and served as the Special Assistant to the Secretary of Treasury during the Bush, Sr. administration.  After leaving government Steve distinguished himself in the private sector and held the senior most corporate security roles for Kendall-Jackson Vineyards and Winery, Vulcan Northwest and Agilent Technologies.
