Founded in 1998, Security Management Resources began by providing researched information to the Security Jobs Network™ job board, on currently available professional level positions within the security profession. In 1999, SMR launched executive search and recruitment services and has subsequently grown to become the world's leading search firm exclusively focused in corporate security community niche market.  In 2001, to ensure autonomy, Security Jobs Network was spun off as a separate corporate entity and continues to be highly successful.   To better support the increasing demand in Europe, Africa and the Middle East,  as well as the Asia Pacific and Indian Sub-Continent regions, in August 2007 SMR opened its London office.
